I swear by Apollo Healer, by Asclepius, by Hygieia, by Panacea, and by all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will carry out, according to my ability and judgment, this oath and this indenture.

من به آپولون، پزشک آسکلیپوس، هیژیا و پاناکیا سوگند یاد می‌کنم و تمام خدایان و الهه‌ها را گواه می‌گیرم که در حدود قدرت و بر حسب قضاوت خود مفاد این سوگند نامه و تعهد کتبی را اجرا نمایم.

To hold my teacher in this art equal to my own parents; to make him partner in my livelihood; when he is in need of money to share mine with him; to consider his family as my own brothers, and to teach them this art, if they want to learn it, without fee or indenture; to impart precept, oral instruction, and all other instruction to my own sons, the sons of my teacher, and to indentured pupils who have taken the Healer’s oath, but to nobody else.

من سوگند یاد می‌کنم که شخصی را که به من حرفه پزشکی خواهد آموخت مانند والدین خود فرض کنم و در صورتی که محتاج باشد درآمد خود را با وی تقسیم کنم و احتیاجات وی را مرتفع سازم. پسرانش را مانند برادران خود بدانم و در صورتی که بخواهند به تحصیل پزشکی بپردازند بدون مزد یا قراردادی حرفه پزشکی را به آن‌ها بیاموزم. صول دستورهای کلی، دروس شفاهی و تمام معلومات پزشکی را جز پسران خود، پسران استادم و شاگردانی که طبق قانون پزشکی پذیرفته شده و سوگند یاد کرده‌اند به دیگری نیاموزم.

I will use those dietary regimens which will benefit my patients according to my greatest ability and judgment, and I will do no harm or injustice to them.

ا پرهیز غذایی را بر حسب توانایی و قضاوت خود به نفع بیماران تجویز خواهم کرد نه برای ضرر و زیان آن‌ها

Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course. Similarly I will not give to a woman a pessary to cause abortion. But I will keep pure and holy both my life and my art.

و به خواهش اشخاص به هیچ‌کس داروی کشنده نخواهم داد و مبتکر تلقین چنین فکری نخواهم بود. همچنین وسیله سقط جنین در اختیار هیچ‌یک از زنان نخواهم گذاشت. با پرهیزگاری و تقدس زندگی وحرفه خود را نجات خواهم داد.

I will not use the knife, not even, verily, on sufferers from stone, but I will give place to such as are craftsmen therein.

بیماران سنگ دار را عمل نخواهم کرد و این عمل را به اهل فن واگذار خواهم نمود.

Into whatsoever houses I enter, I will enter to help the sick, and I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm, especially from abusing the bodies of man or woman, bond or free.

در هر خانه‌ای که باید داخل شوم برای مفید بودن به حال بیماران وارد خواهم شد و از هر کار زشت ارادی و آلوده‌کننده به خصوص اعمال ناهنجار، با زنان و مردان، خواه آزاد و خواه برده باشند، اجتناب خواهم کرد.

And whatsoever I shall see or hear in the course of my profession, as well as outside my profession in my intercourse with men, if it be what should not be published abroad, I will never divulge, holding such things to be holy secrets.

آنچه در حین انجام دادن حرفه خود و حتی خارج ازآن دربارهٔ زندگی مردم خواهم دید یا خواهم شنید که نباید فاش شود به هیچ‌کس نخواهم گفت زیرا این قبیل مطالب را باید به گنجینه اسرار سپرد.

Now if I carry out this oath, and break it not, may I gain for ever reputation among all men for my life and for my art; but if I break it and forswear myself, may the opposite befall me.

اگر تمام این سوگندنامه را اجرا کنم و به آن افتخار کنم از ثمرات زندگی و حرفه خود برخوردار شوم و همیشه بین مردان مفتخر و سربلند باشم، ولی اگر آن را نقص کنم و به سوگند عمل نکنم از ثمرات زندگی و حرفه خود بهره نبرم و همیشه بین مردان سرافکنده و شرمسار باشم.
