Description
Hippocrates wrote his “Oath” at the dawn of human civilization. It commits physicians to high ethical principles such as the preservation of life, patient confidentiality and the avoidance of harmful treatments. This oath has been adapted many times to new realities, but it can still be considered the basis of medical ethics throughout the world. It embodies the principles of caring for the health and well-being of patients. The original Ancient Greek text of the book “Ὅρκος” authored by Ἱπποκράτης is/are in the public domain and not protected by copyright because at least 100 years (viz. 2395) have passed since the author’s death in 370 BC.
